Washington D.C. non-profit has immediate opening for a former director, chief economist, senior analyst or consultant with experience at electricity division of a PUC, RTO or power generator. Job is based at a fast-growing Capitol Hill organization dedicated to advancing role of natural gas and other low carbon energy alternatives in power sector. Successful candidate will lead development of model state policies for clean power, including generation portfolios, performance standards, and associated rate recovery plans; supervise outside experts/consultants; prepare reports on state generation options; represent Foundation at public forums and conferences. Must have top analytical and quantitative skills (BA/BS or advanced degree with superior record); be an excellent communicator; have demonstrated experience (5-7 yrs) with PUC/RTO operations and power dispatch and purchasing arrangements; passion for advancing environmentally friendly generation options and commitment to the Foundation’s goals; ability to multitask in a busy office environment. Reports to Vice President of Policy and Research. Experience with PUC and/or RTO in Midwest or Northeast is a plus. Salary commensurate with experience; full benefits; relocation expenses paid.
